The atmosphere at the races we entered was always very good and two tough races that will always stand out in my memory were the Otter High Peak Half Marathon at Buxton (ran it in 1983 and 1984) and the Middleton Moonraker Half Marathon (ran it in 1982 and 1984) - fantastic scenery at Buxton and a real sense of achievement at completing the course, and great organisation at Middleton over another hilly course in July.
